Officials urge caution on NH-29 as monsoon hits

Kohima: Monsoon rains are hitting the Dimapur-Kohima road hard. Flash floods and rockfalls now threaten travel along NH-29. Authorities warned drivers to stay alert during the heavy downpours.

Social media rumors claimed a total road closure today. Traffic officials shut down that talk fast. They clarified that the route remains open to vehicles despite the dangerous weather conditions.

Small rocks tumbled onto the pavement in several spots. Maintenance crews moved quickly to clear the mess. Traffic is currently being funneled to one side of the road to keep commuters moving safely. "The road was not blocked," officials stated.
