NSUI Manipur Hosts Cycle Rally to Champion Drug-Free State

Imphal: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Manipur State Unit hosted the RIZZ RIDE cycle rally this Sunday to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Led by state president Joyson Kh. and organized under the guidance of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president O. Ibobi Singh, the event aimed to mobilize local youth against substance abuse.

Member of Parliament A. Bimol Akoijam, alongside MLAs K. Lokeshwor Singh and O. Surjakumar Singh, flagged off the event at 6:00 a.m. in Kangla. More than 300 participants joined the 25-kilometer journey to Maibam Lokpa Ching. Throughout the ride, cyclists displayed banners and chanted slogans such as "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life," emphasizing the necessity of community involvement in preventing drug dependence.

Upon reaching the destination, organizers distributed medals and certificates to all participants. The event concluded with a formal pledge, where attendees committed to maintaining a drug-free life and educating others on the dangers of illicit substances. The NSUI credited the Manipur Police and local residents for their essential support in ensuring the safety and success of the rally.
