NSCN (IM) Joint Council Reaffirms Commitment to 2015 Framework Agreement

Kohima: The Joint Council of the NSCN (IM) gathered at its headquarters in Hebron on June 18 to solidify its position on the ongoing Naga political movement. During the meeting, members unanimously resolved to maintain their dedication to the cause and expressed full confidence in the group's Collective Leadership.

This leadership team currently consists of Yaruiwo Q Tuccu, Kedalo Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Th Muivah, and Deputy Ato Kilonser Lt Gen (Retd) VS Atem. The council members credited these leaders with effectively guiding the organization through recent challenges.

The council emphasized that it remains dedicated to what it described as the "sacred Naga National Cause." As part of this commitment, the body declared its intention to continue protecting and honoring the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015. The organization views this document as the essential foundation for reaching an honorable political settlement.

Following the assembly, the Ministry of Information and Publicity released a statement urging Naga citizens, regional authorities, and supporters to stay united behind the Collective Leadership as they navigate the current political landscape.
