Imphal: The Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit, has rejected a recent statement from Kuki civil society organizations claiming ignorance regarding the whereabouts of six Naga men abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13. The NPF labeled the denial as disturbing and pointed to conflicting reports, noting that Kuki groups have acknowledged other abduction cases while remaining silent on this specific incident.

The NPF asserts that 14 individuals were taken together, including women and a child who were released on May 15. According to the party, the testimonies of the released survivors serve as direct evidence of the kidnapping. These survivors have provided accounts of the circumstances surrounding their abduction and the subsequent separation from their husbands.

The women released include Kachlaklung Thiumai, Winiliu Thiumai, her daughter Sarah Thiumai, and Wibonliu Chawang. The six men still missing have been identified as Rev. Dr. Manu Thiumai, Dilip Thiumai, Phenrilungbou Chawang, Pherongwibou Thiumai, Kenpibou Chawang, and Kliwangbou Abonmai.

The NPF is now demanding the immediate disclosure of the location of these men and their unconditional release. The party warned that the continued denial of the incident threatens inter-community peace and has fostered deep mistrust. NPF leaders stated they intend to support the affected families and will continue to pursue accountability until the truth is revealed.
