Itanagar: The Northeast Frontier Railway is launching new services and extending existing routes to accommodate the surge in travelers during the summer months. These operational changes aim to reduce wait times and ensure better ticket availability for those commuting between the northeastern region and southern India.

Officials have extended the Secunderabad-Naharlagun weekly special train by five trips in each direction. Train number 07046 from Secunderabad to Naharlagun will run from May 29 through June 26, 2026. The return leg, train number 07047, is scheduled to operate from June 1 to June 29, 2026.

In a separate effort to curb congestion, the railway has introduced a daily service between Katihar and Bhagalpur running from May 27 to June 1, 2026. The Bhagalpur to Katihar service departs at 7 am and arrives by 1 pm. The return trip leaves Katihar at 2:10 pm and reaches its destination by 8:20 pm. This specific service will feature 13 general coaches for unreserved travel.

Passengers should check the IRCTC website or the official social media channels for the Northeast Frontier Railway to confirm detailed schedules and designated station stops before finalizing their travel plans.
