Nine Die in Greater Noida Bus Fire

Shillong: Nine people, including one woman, died when a double-decker bus burst into flames on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. The tragedy struck Thursday within the Jewar police station zone. More than 30 passengers were on board. Many panicked. Passengers scrambled through windows to escape the inferno.

Police and fire teams arrived to handle the scene. They broke windows to pull survivors to safety. "Nine passengers, including a woman, were trapped inside and burnt alive in the massive blaze." The bus was headed from Noida to Mahoba.

Investigators are looking into why the bus ignited. Preliminary reports mention the vehicle carried heavy luggage, including stacks loaded onto the roof.
