Kohima: A new 120-liter water cooler and filter now sits at DDSC Stadium on Golaghat Road. Agarwal Samaj set up the gear to help visitors dodge the brutal summer heat. Pankaj Agarwal provided the backing for the project to honor the memories of Late Chandmal Agarwal and Late Umashankar Agarwal.
Shree Agarwal Mahasabha president Pradeep Goel and vice president Indar Chand Agarwal kicked off the service on Thursday. The event fell on Nirjala Ekadashi. Rajendra Prasad Agarwal, the public relations minister for the group, noted the intent was straightforward. He stated, "The initiative was undertaken by Shree Agarwal Mahasabha, Agarwal Mahila Manch and Agarwal Yuva Manch to provide clean and cold drinking water to visitors during the intense summer heat."
Stadium officials and community members stood by for the ribbon cutting. Organizers handed out shawls and scarves to key supporters and retiring members. The work did not stop at the stadium gates. Volunteers hit G.S. Road at noon to hand out water and juice to the public. More than 800 people grabbed a drink as the group pushed to offer some relief from the blistering temperatures.
