New PHED Office Opens in Niuland

Kohima: Minister for Public Health Engineering Department N Jacob Zhimomi opened the new PHED Division Office in Niuland on Friday. The building cost 1.85 crore to construct. Work finished right on schedule after 18 months.

Zhimomi praised the construction team for the project. He called the finished product "one of the best government office buildings in the district." This new facility aims to bring better services to the local population.

The Minister pushed young people to consider jobs in farming and skilled trades. He believes this path leads to financial independence. He also asked residents to register for the 2027 Census in their current wards instead of their native villages.

Deputy Commissioner T L Kiusumong Tikhir attended the event. He asked village councils and local groups to back district development efforts. Officials from the Western Sumi Hoho and local leaders also spoke at the ceremony to mark the completion of the project.
