Kohima: Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor of School Education, officially opened the North Block Council Hall in Kezieke, Kohima, on June 20. The facility was constructed by Kohima Smart City Development Ltd under the Smart City Mission, a project overseen by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Addressing the community during the inauguration, Dr. Yhome expressed his support for the project and its potential benefits for the local population. As the representative for the 10th Northern Angami-1 assembly constituency, he promised to provide additional developmental support through the Local Area Development Programme. He invited community leaders to propose suitable projects that align with the specific needs of residents.
Ruokuovolie Rutsa, a Kohima Municipal Council councillor, also shared his gratitude for the new infrastructure. He urged citizens to maximize the utility of the building and noted that they must "honour and strictly adhere to whatever decision taken from this North Block Council Hall for the welfare and progress of the ward."
The event featured contributions from various local leaders, including Thejao Sekhose, chairman of the Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Council. Pastor Cassius Solo led the invocation, while local representatives provided musical performances. The program was chaired by North Block Council chairman Thejaselie Jabou Sekhose, with a vote of thanks delivered by Tseilievinuo Sale of the Kezieke Welfare Board.
