New Cement Concrete Road Opens in Kozabe Village

Kohima: Block Development Officer for Chümoukedima, Seyiekhrielie Rio, officially opened a newly constructed cement concrete road at Kozabe village on June 5. Built under the MGNREGA Scheme for 2025 to 2026, the project aims to bolster transportation and connectivity for local residents.

During the event, Rio praised the village community for their collaborative efforts in completing the construction. He urged residents to take ownership of the infrastructure, noting that community participation is vital for the long-term upkeep of public projects.

Addressing the attendees, Rio also spoke about the significance of World Environment Day. He urged the village to focus on solid waste management at the local level. He said, "I encouraged villagers to adopt responsible waste segregation and disposal practices and called for collective efforts towards maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability."

Village leaders thanked the departments involved in the project. They stated that the road provides much-needed accessibility and serves as a key foundation for future development in the area.
