Kohima: The family of B.K. Das and Gangamani Rai Das started the Sudha Das Academic Excellence Award to reward local scholastic achievement. They want to honor a Gorkha or Nepali girl from Kohima district who earns the top marks in the 2026 HSLC Examination held by the Nagaland Board of School Education.
Winners get a plaque and Rs. 50,000 cash. To qualify, students must be from the Gorkha community and attend a school inside Kohima district. The selection committee picks the student with the highest overall percentage across all six subjects. Applicants must score at least 80 percent to be in the running.
"Mark sheets received after the deadline will not be considered," the organizers stated.
