Agartala: The NEET UG 2026 re-examination began across Tripura on Sunday with tight security protocols in place. A total of 4,500 candidates are participating in the test, which is being held at nine centres in West Tripura and one in the Dhalai district.

District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar confirmed that the process is moving forward without disruptions. Speaking on the status of the exam, he noted: "Today, the NEET UG re-examination is underway. We visited Kendriya Vidyalaya to inspect the arrangements. In West Tripura district alone, there are nine examination centres. Students entered the examination halls by 1:30 PM, and biometric attendance systems are functioning properly."

Authorities have implemented strict measures to protect the integrity of the testing environment. Under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, the District Magistrate prohibited gatherings of five or more people within a 100-yard radius of each venue. These restrictions also limit access to authorized personnel and forbid the possession of weapons near the sites.

Security forces are maintaining a heavy presence at all locations to ensure order. West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak stated that units from the Central Armed Police Forces, Tripura State Rifles, and state police are collaborating to secure the area. Officials report that no complaints have been filed as the examination continues under the supervision of the National Testing Agency.
