Guwahati: Nameri Tiger Reserve officially earned Conservation Assured | Tiger Standards approval on September 10, 2026. The CA|TS International Executive Committee granted the status following a rigorous site assessment. This milestone confirms that all four of Assam's tiger reserves now meet international management benchmarks. The list also includes Kaziranga, Manas, and Orang.

CA|TS evaluates how well managers protect wild cats. It tests wildlife security, habitat health, and scientific monitoring. It also reviews administration, conservation planning, and how well the park includes local communities. Nameri completed the entire process to prove its effectiveness.

The reserve sits on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River. It acts as a vital link for wildlife. The site maintains ecological connections to forests in Arunachal Pradesh and the wider Brahmaputra Valley. The Field Director of Nameri Tiger Reserve said the CA|TS approval reflects "sustained efforts to strengthen conservation and management practices in the reserve."

Success required heavy lifting. Forest officials and frontline personnel worked hard. Their contribution secured the recognition. This achievement signals a major shift in how Assam manages its protected zones for the long haul.
