Guwahati: Nalbari police caught two suspects during a major anti-narcotics operation in Assam. Officers recovered 211.5 grams of suspected heroin hidden inside 16 soap cases.

The seized drugs hold a street value of approximately 1.48 crore rupees. Police intercepted the shipment before it reached the local market to be distributed.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrests on social media. "Another consignment intercepted before it could poison our communities?" he wrote after praising the department. Sarma added that the state remains committed to stopping the flow of illegal narcotics.

Investigators are now working to identify the rest of the trafficking ring. This bust marks another win in a long line of recent police efforts to clear drugs from the state.
