Nagaon Police Bust Hotel Gambling Den

Guwahati: Nagaon Police raided the Hotel Blue Bird on June 25. They shut down a gambling den running on the fifth floor. Seven people went into custody after the sting. Officers grabbed cash and gambling gear from the room during the sweep.

Police named Manjit Sharma and Amit Roy as the men running the operation. Partha Saikia owns the property. The raid started after tip-offs reached the department.

Chaos broke out when the press arrived. One reporter said the suspects turned on them. "Some of those present attempted to assault the reporter and damage the camera," the journalist claimed while documenting the scene. Police are digging into the incident and plan to file more charges as the investigation moves forward.
