Nagaland Students Win Top Folk Dance Honor at Regional NSS Festival

Kohima: MGM College students brought home a major win from Arunachal Pradesh this week. The team captured first place in the Folk Dance Competition at the Northeast National Service Scheme Festival held at Arunodaya University.

Thirty-two volunteers and Programme Officer Sentikala represented Nagaland during the five-day event. They beat out teams from across the region. Their routine highlighted the state's traditional heritage and earned praise from both judges and rivals.

The group stayed busy beyond the dance floor. They took part in quiz matches, speech events, and PowerPoint presentations. Organizers stated the festival aimed to help youth "strengthen the values of leadership, national integration and selfless service while promoting cultural understanding."

Leadership at MGM College in Dimapur lauded the students for their success. The faculty and principal thanked the team for representing the state with distinction on a regional stage.
