Nagaland Readies for National Immunisation Day

Kohima: Nagaland gears up for a major health push. The National Immunisation Day and Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation programme hits the state on June 28. Teams target every child under five. Officials in Kohima and Mokokchung are clearing the final hurdles before the campaign begins.

Kohima District Task Force leaders met June 24 to organize the effort. Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem oversaw the review. They covered logistics, fire safety, and medical waste. The district will run clinics from 7 am to 3 pm. Buchem told staff to prioritize the rollout: "The Deputy Commissioner directed all subdivisions and concerned departments to extend necessary support to ensure the success of the campaign."

Mokokchung health leaders issued a direct plea. They want every parent and caregiver to show up. Booths are set across the district. Doctors say local participation keeps the region polio-free. Residents with questions should visit their local clinic.
