Kohima: Nagaland is revamping its agricultural sector to match the national Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. State Minister for Water Resources and Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, confirmed the government is pushing for better infrastructure and sharper value chains to support farmers. She told attendees, "The vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 could only be achieved through collective efforts and active participation of all stakeholders."

Experts gathered at the ICAR Research Complex in Jharnapani to build a concrete action plan. Policymakers and scientists spent the day identifying ways to boost crop productivity. They discussed adding indigenous plants to the mix and getting better tech into the hands of local growers. The goal is to move beyond talk and get real results on the ground.

Dr. G. Kadirvel from ICAR pushed for evidence based planning. He wants researchers and state agencies to stop working in silos. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi demanded better coordination between all departments. His focus remains on raising farmer income and keeping the food supply steady. The team plans to turn these talks into a working roadmap for the region.
