Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his deputies, Yanthungo Patton and T R Zeliang, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday. They huddled to address security, infrastructure, and ties between states. The meeting signals a push from the Centre to sharpen coordination with the Northeast.

Official channels confirmed the session. The Office of the Union Home Minister stated in a post on X that "Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T R Zeliang called on Amit Shah, who also holds the Cooperation portfolio."

Details remain locked down. Yet, the sit-down carries weight. Federal and state leaders are fighting to secure the peace and kickstart stalled economic projects. The government wants better roads and safer borders. This meeting serves as a clear move to get the state and the Centre moving in the same direction.
