Kohima: Nagaland officials wrapped up a two-day export summit in Kohima this week. The Department of Industries and Commerce held the event alongside the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited. It ran September 24 and 25 at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce. Representatives from all 13 districts attended.
Organizers launched the summit under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance scheme. They focused on the theme, "Building Global Pathways: Strengthening Nagaland's Export Competitiveness." Joint Director Cholzo Sophie opened the sessions. Additional Director K Francis Hekavi delivered the keynote speech. Hojeto K Suqhe closed the event with a vote of thanks.
Razveer Mohsin, a trade expert with 25 years of experience, led eight detailed modules. He walked local entrepreneurs through the export life cycle. Attendees learned how to get an Import Export Code and pick the right products for international shelves. The sessions covered critical financial needs like pre-shipment and post-shipment finance.
The training detailed how to handle documentation like bills of lading and health certificates. Experts explained GST Letters of Undertaking and the importance of Geographical Indication tags. They touched on the Districts as Export Hubs initiative to help small businesses reach foreign markets. The program ensured participants left with a clear grasp of compliance, pricing, and the specific banking tools required to trade across borders.

Keneirienuo T. Zatsu, deputy director of Industries and Commerce, chaired the inaugural session. Razveer Mohsin, the business head at Tradeforte Group of Companies, brought deep regional experience as an ex-banker to the training modules. His expertise covers foreign exchange and trade finance.
The two-day event wrapped up with networking sessions and direct feedback. These final talks allowed local entrepreneurs to grill the experts on specific export hurdles, from bank readiness to securing market linkages.
