Nagaland Honors Eight Top Entrepreneurs

Kohima: Eight local entrepreneurs received the State Entrepreneur Award 2025 on July 1 in Kohima. The Department of Industries and Commerce picked the winners after reviewing applications from across the state. These individuals represent a wide range of industries, including clothing, crafts, and food production.

The list of winners includes Pisala Sangtam of Forever Handmade 21, S Khumo of Art and Craft Unit, and Liyingbeni Odyuo of Liying Clothing. Others honored were Vitoli Achumi of Aasuto Enterprise, Imtisunup Longchar of Ilandlo Services, Ajung Yaden and Atem Longkumer of TRIBOLT, Supongtola Aier of Zonee Food Products, and Alem Konyak of Beads Jewellery.

DIC Director P Tokugha Sema praised the group for their hard work. He noted that success requires years of effort and sacrifice. DIC Advisor Hekani Jakhalu pointed to the RAMP programme as a way to boost local businesses. She noted that 750 firms now receive mentoring under the Naturally Nagaland initiative.

Jakhalu warned the winners against getting stuck in day-to-day operations. She urged them to build systems, saying, "entrepreneurs would play a key role in shaping the state's future economic development." The department aims to help these businesses reach national and global markets.

DIC Joint Director K Francis Hekavi closed the ceremony. He told the crowd that these awards mark the start of a long process. The state wants these owners to spark further economic growth across Nagaland.
