Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav demanded a crackdown on sexual violence Saturday. He met with Director General of Police Rupin Sharma at Lok Bhavan in Kohima to address a spike in assaults against women and minor girls. Crimes are rising. The governor ordered police to show zero tolerance for offenders.
Yadav wants swift investigations and hard justice. He told the state police force to tighten surveillance and step up preventive measures to keep vulnerable citizens safe. The governor insisted that every possible step must be taken to stop these attacks. He said, "Every possible step should be taken to safeguard citizens and strengthen confidence in the state's law enforcement system."
DGP Sharma briefed the governor on ongoing cases and current security initiatives. Beyond police work, the governor called for more public awareness. He noted that community involvement is essential to protect those at risk. The state now faces heavy pressure to deliver faster results and better protection for victims.
