Nagaland Governor Ensures Disability ID Cards Issued in Peren

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav intervened to resolve delays in the issuance of Unique Disability ID cards for residents in the Peren district. His directive followed reports regarding stalled applications, prompting the Department of Social Welfare and the Department of Health and Family Welfare to expedite the process.

The departments successfully issued cards to three specific applicants, Kerehunglungle, Nchayi Kuame, and Keligumbe Hairangbuing, by the May 29 deadline. This resolution allows the beneficiaries to access vital government welfare schemes and rehabilitation support services.

Officials are currently working with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India to provide assistive equipment suited to the specific needs of these individuals. Governor Yadav commended the swift response from the departments while emphasizing the need to eliminate procedural barriers for people with disabilities across the state.
