Kohima: Nagaland's Advisor for New and Renewable Energy, Er. Picto Shohe, visited the Indian Meteorological Department office in Guwahati on June 22. He met with Deputy Director General Dr. Sanjay O’ Neil Shaw to lobby for a dedicated Energy Meteorological Cell. The move aims to integrate precise weather data into the state's energy planning.

Shohe brought along Secretary Linda Solo and Director Er. James Khala for the talks. The delegation discussed how better data helps manage power resources. Shohe thanked the regional center for its ongoing support. He stated: "The importance of strengthening renewable energy utilization in Nagaland" remains his top priority for the department.

Reliable weather patterns matter for green power. The state wants to tap into better climate modeling to grow its energy sector. Officials believe this partnership with the Guwahati center will help the state better manage its natural power potential.
