Nagaland delegation showcases biodiversity efforts at national event in Bhopal

Kohima: Members of Biodiversity Management Committees from Nagaland traveled to the Indian Institute of Forest Management in Bhopal on May 22, 2026, to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity. Supported by the Nagaland State Biodiversity Board, the delegation participated in an exhibition to highlight regional conservation successes and local traditions.

During the event, Self Help Groups supported by the Forest and Biodiversity Management Project displayed various products at a dedicated Nagaland stall. High-profile visitors including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, and Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh toured the display. These officials commended the state for its active commitment to environmental stewardship.

The commemorative event was hosted by the National Biodiversity Authority and the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The celebration also featured a summit focused on cheetah conservation.
