Kohima: Enumerators kicked off the Census 2027 House Listing Operations on Wednesday at Lok Bhavan. This marks the start of the data collection process at the official residence of Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav. Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer for Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, led the operation alongside city census staff.

Work moved fast. The team followed all official procedures to wrap up the listing at the residence without a hitch. This launch signals the start of a broader push across the Kohima district that will run from July 1 through July 30.

Teams will fan out to visit every household in the coming weeks. They need to log details on housing quality, access to basic amenities, and household assets. The district administration insists that all data remains secure and private. Officials have urged the public to get on board with the survey. The administration stated that it is vital for citizens to "extend full cooperation to census officials to ensure the successful conduct of an accurate and inclusive Census of India 2027."
