Kohima: Nagaland Advisor for Information and Public Relations and Soil and Water Conservation, Daochier I Imchen, has committed to serving all residents of the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency regardless of their village or political background. Speaking at a thanksgiving programme hosted by the Mangmetong Village Council on Saturday, Imchen emphasized his role as a representative for the entire constituency rather than a single group.

Reflecting on his recent election victory, Imchen acknowledged the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the local electorate. He stated, "I am not an MLA for Mangmetong Village or for the BJP party alone, but for the entire Koridang constituency." He encouraged all constituents to approach him for assistance, promising to focus on practical goals rather than unrealistic political promises.

Imchen also pledged to continue the developmental efforts established by his late father, former minister Imkong L Imchen, while pursuing new projects. He specifically highlighted a commitment to youth empowerment, announcing that 20 lakh rupees have been set aside under the Local Area Development Programme. This fund will support approximately 20 skilled youths this financial year through sustainable livelihood projects determined in consultation with local councils and party leaders.

The advisor expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his recent cabinet appointment. Mangmetong Village Council Chairman Watitemjen welcomed the appointment, noting the long history of Mangmetong representation in the assembly and urging the new advisor to work toward the welfare of the broader Naga community.
