Naga Students Federation Removes Finance Secretary After Extortion Claims

Kohima: The Naga Students Federation removed Finance Secretary Katho P. Awomi from his post on July 3. This move follows public accusations of vandalism and illegal solicitation of money from Dimapur restaurant owners.

Tito Yepthomi, president of the Dimapur Restaurant Union, filed a formal police complaint against Awomi on July 2. The federation acted quickly. NSF President Mteisuding Heraang confirmed the decision in Kohima the following day.

Awomi remains sidelined until officials finalize their investigation into the conduct allegations. Heraang stated that Awomi has been "exempted" from his assigned role and responsibilities till the matter regarding his actions are settled. The leadership is now urging the public to wait for a full report on the incident.
