Imphal: The Naga People’s Union Imphal has scheduled a peaceful mass rally for May 25 to protest the abduction of six Naga civilians. The individuals, who include pastors, were allegedly taken by suspected Kuki armed groups on May 13 near Leilon Vaiphei village.

The rally will begin at 11:00 AM at the Tribal Market in New Checkon. Participants plan to march to the Chief Minister’s office to submit a formal memorandum regarding the incident. Organizers have asked all Naga residents in the Imphal Valley to attend the event and wear traditional clothing to show their support.

To bolster the demonstration, the Imphal Naga Business Association has ordered all Naga-owned shops and commercial establishments in the region to close for the day. This move is intended to demonstrate unity and demand justice for those kidnapped.

The business association warned that any business owner or individual failing to comply with the shutdown will face strict disciplinary actions based on the organization's existing rules. The association described the closure as a necessary measure to prioritize the safety and collective interests of the Naga community.
