Imphal: The Foothills Naga Co-ordination Committee condemned a brutal attack in Manipur that left six homes in ashes and two schools trashed. Assailants hit Leimakhong Chingmang and Kanto Sabal on July 11, looting the Cornerstone Mission School and Hope International School. The violence claimed the life of Dr. Manu, the founder and principal of Hope International School, while the buildings suffered damages totaling crores.

The FNCC labeled the strike an assault on education and civilization. They noted the violence unfolded near the 57 Mountain Division and right in front of Central Armed Police Forces and the Punjab Regiment. The group demands the state government and federal authorities identify and arrest those behind the carnage.

The committee did not hold back in its assessment of the tragedy. "There can be no justification for murdering civilians, burning homes or attacking educational institutions. These are criminal acts of terror intended to spread fear, destroy lives and destabilise society," the statement read. FNCC leaders say the region needs total accountability to restore order.
