Guwahati: Bishal Chaotal is dead. His mutilated body turned up near the Kachari Line Hills in Assam’s Nagaon district on July 9. Local authorities recovered the remains at Rangamati within the Shalna police jurisdiction, noting severe physical trauma that suggests a violent homicide.

Officers retrieved a scooter with the registration number AS02AQ 3070 at the scene. They moved the body to a local morgue for a post-mortem exam. Investigators are currently building a case to find out exactly how Chaotal died.

Residents suspect revenge. Locals claim Chaotal was previously accused of murdering a mother and son from the same family nearly a year ago. As investigators look into the past case, they remain tight-lipped about a motive. Police have not officially confirmed the link, stating only that the "investigation is underway."
