Itanagar: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak toured Lower Siang and East Siang districts on Saturday to survey wreckage from recent floods. He met with displaced families in Koyu and Korang circles to assess the destruction. The lawmaker warned residents to steer clear of riverbanks and avoid drinking river water, citing risks of water-borne illness.

Tagak pledged to lobby the Central government for a dedicated relief package to fix broken infrastructure and help families rebuild. He handed out 7 lakh rupees as interim support for the Nari-Koyu constituency. Local leaders and government officials joined the MP during his inspections.

He later examined heavy damage along the Sibo Korong River near Boying village. Tagak sat down with local heads to hammer out a recovery plan. He told the crowd, "I would urge the Central government to provide a special relief package for the region."
