Motorcyclist Critically Injures Man in Cachar Road Crash

Guwahati: A speeding motorcycle slammed into a pedestrian on Saturday night in Assam. The crash occurred on the Silchar-Jaintia Road near Harinchhara. Surya Lal Bauri, a local from Bhitor Gangapur Part-I, tried to cross the street when the bike hit him. The force threw him onto the road.

Barkhola police arrived fast. Locals helped officers rush Bauri to the Barkhola Primary Health Centre. Doctors there treated him, but his condition remained dire. They transferred him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for emergency care.

Tension flared in the Barkhola area after the collision. Officers moved in to keep the peace. Police are now hunting the rider. Authorities stated, "An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances leading to the crash and determine the identity and role of the motorcycle rider."
