Guwahati: Morigaon marked Sok Divas on August 16 at Tarun Ram Phukan Field. The event honored those killed during the 2004 Dhemaji bomb blast that struck Independence Day festivities. It also remembered other victims of militant violence across the region.

District Commissioner Srishti Singh joined office staff and department heads at 11 am. The group held a one-minute silence for the dead. The silence served as a reminder of the human cost of terrorism.

The administration made a public promise during the ceremony. They pledged to stand against all forms of terror. Officials committed to promoting lasting peace, unity, and harmony within society. The event ended with a "renewed commitment by the administration to uphold peace and communal harmony in society."
