Kohima: Members of the Jahjon Ward Youth Organisation in Mon Town caught a habitual burglar red-handed. They recovered a massive haul of school property. The group spent a week tracking the thief to regain control of items taken from the Government Higher Secondary School automotive lab and store room.

The recovery list runs long. It includes 36 separate items like hydraulic jacks, wrench sets, a water storage tank, and a western commode. These tools carry an estimated value of fifty thousand rupees.

GHSS Mon Town principal Limawati credited the group for their hard work. She stated that the recovery of the burgled goods was "made possible due to their meticulous and painstaking efforts."

The youth volunteers handed the gear back to school officials on June 22, 2026. The school expressed deep thanks to the organization for cleaning up the mess caused by the serial offender.
