Kohima: Dozens of students and officials took to the streets in Mokokchung on June 24. They marched to promote a drug-free society during a district-wide event for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Senior Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo flagged off the walkathon at the DC Office. The group marched through the city before finishing at the Mokokchung Public Ground.

Dr. Madhavi R, the Nodal Officer for the initiative, spoke to the crowd at the finish line. She said the initiative seeks to boost awareness on drug abuse prevention and inspire collective community action.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling led the participants in the official NMBA pledge. The event wrapped up with a mass signature campaign to lock in the community commitment against substance abuse.
