Kohima: Mokokchung officials officially launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on June 15 during an event at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The campaign focuses on strategies to curb both the supply and demand of illicit substances in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling opened the event by stressing that policy alone cannot solve the region's drug problems. He emphasized the necessity of a community-wide approach, noting that "combating the issues of substance abuse requires more than just policies, but also requires a collective efforts such as the supply curbing strategy, the demand reduction effort and most importantly the outreach and awareness that begins right here with us."
Walling urged all residents to take an active role in the initiative to ensure its success. During the session, District Welfare Officer I. Mangliyangba delivered the keynote address. The event concluded with attendees taking a formal pledge to commit themselves to the goals of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
