Kohima: Modern Higher Secondary School in Kohima threw a Fresher's Day bash this Saturday to induct the new Class 11 batch. Vilitoli Chishi opened the event with a prayer before Temastilchi R Sangma told the newcomers to dive into school life with vigor. The school choir sang Look at the World to get things moving.
Senior student Metevino Chishi shared tips on surviving school. She pushed the new students to join clubs and study hard. Wewuzo Kapfo spoke for the freshers, promising they would keep the school values alive. Entrepreneur Lolo Ezung served as the special guest for the afternoon.
Ezung told the crowd to stay sharp. "Encouraging students to remain focused, build self-confidence and make the most of opportunities that come their way," was the core of his talk. Artiste Abdon Mech took the stage next and kept the room buzzing with his music.
Staff and students took home awards for their grades. The day peaked with the crowning of the new campus royalty. Ngeptai from the Arts stream grabbed the Miss Fresher 2026 title. Sumir Sunar from Science took the Mr Fresher 2026 honors. Somila and Lumjamo Patton picked up the Multimedia titles.
The event wrapped up with a vote of thanks from Khrotso Koza. Shanbenthung M Lotha closed the day with a final benediction.
