Guwahati: BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev expressed confidence in the development prospects for the Hojai constituency during the inaugural session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly. Serving his second term as an MLA, Dev emphasized that his primary focus remains on uplifting the region, which he described as historically underdeveloped.
Dev credited the BJP-led government with improving security and the welfare of indigenous populations since first taking office in 2016. As the state begins its third consecutive term under the party, with Himanta Biswa Sarma continuing as Chief Minister, the MLA noted that public expectations for progress have increased substantially.
To drive growth, Dev identified flood mitigation as the most pressing challenge for the area. He suggested that Hojai is uniquely positioned for transformation due to its location, which sits only two and a half hours away from Guwahati. The MLA believes this proximity provides a solid foundation for achieving meaningful and rapid development during the current legislative session.
