MLA Ramakanta Deuri Joins Morigaon Municipal Board

Guwahati: Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri took his oath as an ex-officio member of the Morigaon Municipal Board on June 30. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Deka administered the ceremony at the District Commissioner's office.

Deuri met with local officials and elected representatives to outline his agenda. He pledged to improve town infrastructure and boost public services. Addressing the crowd, he focused on traffic jams and road safety.

The legislator criticized the recent relocation of the local bus stand. He argued the change hurt both business owners and passengers. He vowed to move the stop back to its former spot to fix the mess. "The move had created difficulties for passengers as well as the business community," Deuri said.

Municipal Board Chairman Yogesh Tamuli and Executive Officer Manas Pratim Baruah attended the event. Councillors and civic staff also watched the swearing-in proceedings.
