Mizoram Governor Prepares Development Strategy for NEC Plenary Session

Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh reviewed the state's readiness for the 73rd North Eastern Council plenary session during a meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl. The upcoming conference, scheduled for June 4 in Shillong, will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and aims to address regional development across eight northeastern states.

During the session, Governor Singh urged state departments to clearly articulate Mizoram's specific needs and project priorities. The Governor emphasized that the central government remains committed to accelerating growth across the entire region.

David Lalthantluanga, Secretary of the Planning and Programme Implementation Department, provided a status report on previous commitments. This update included progress made since the December 2024 plenary in Agartala. The discussion also covered current infrastructure initiatives supported by the North Eastern Council and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, ensuring all state projects are well positioned for federal review.
