Aizawl: Mizoram is moving to lower energy costs by adopting the piped gas model used in Tripura. Officials from the state Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department met with the Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited in Aizawl this Thursday. They mapped out plans for a City Gas Distribution network at the ATI Auditorium.

FCS&CA Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova led the session. He wants the project running fast. Compressed Natural Gas will eventually power kitchens and vehicles across the state. This move aims to slash bills for daily commuters and local families alike.

Hospitality businesses stand to benefit the most. Minister Lalchhanzova stated that piped natural gas would "reduce expenditure" considerably for the hospitality sector. He expects the broader economy to feel the boost once the grid goes live. The minister also tasked local leaders with spreading the word to ensure the public understands the shift toward this modern infrastructure.
