Aizawl: Mizoram has distributed over 96 percent of enumeration forms to voters during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Chief Electoral Officer Garima Gupta confirmed on Monday that Booth Level Officers have reached more than 8.42 lakh out of the state's 8.75 lakh registered voters.

The intensive revision process began on May 20 following instructions from the Election Commission of India. Gupta reported that approximately 19 percent of the distributed forms have been verified, and a similar percentage has already been digitized. The enumeration phase will conclude on June 28, ahead of the draft electoral roll publication scheduled for July 5.

This initiative requires both existing voters and new eligible citizens to submit fresh applications to update the state's records. Gupta stated, "The exercise is aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls while removing the names of ineligible persons and updating voter records." The official encouraged all residents to participate to ensure their registration details are accurate.
