Mizoram Bamboo and Rattan Centre Announces Openings for Junior Project Fellows

Aizawl: The Bamboo and Rattan Centre in Mizoram is recruiting two Junior Project Fellows to support a new research initiative. The project, titled "Assessment of Availability of Timber, Geospatial mapping of Tectona grandis (Teak) Plantations and Identification of Candidate Plus Trees (CPTs) of Teak in Mizoram," focuses on local forestry management and mapping.

Applicants must hold a first-class Master of Science degree in fields such as Forestry, Botany, Horticulture, Plant Taxonomy, Agriculture, or Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. While not strictly required, the center prefers candidates with knowledge of genetics, tree breeding, remote sensing, and GIS. Selected fellows will receive a monthly salary of Rs 24,000, plus applicable house rent allowances.

Interested candidates should attend a walk-in interview on June 19, 2026, held at the ICFRE Bamboo and Rattan Centre in Bethlehem Vengthlang, Aizawl. Participants must arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM with their completed application forms and relevant documentation. Forms are available for download on the official ICFRE recruitment website or can be collected directly from the center's office.
