Imphal: Ganesh Nagaranjan, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, arrived in Manipur on June 29. He chaired a meeting at the Churachandpur Mini Secretariat to grade local progress on 39 performance targets. These goals cover health, education, farming, finance, and infrastructure.
Nagaranjan met with Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar and department heads to audit work on NITI Aayog projects. He pushed for better teamwork between departments. Officials must hit deadlines and keep data transparent. Nagaranjan told the group, "The programme aims to ensure holistic development of the identified aspirational blocks."
Kumar promised to keep a close watch on the data. He ordered the District Rural Development Agency to step up its reporting game. The district relies on two specific zones, Lamka South and Tuibong, to lead the way.
Nagaranjan toured a new health facility for women and children in Lamka South before finishing his visit. The site remains a high performer in the national program. Local leaders now wait for federal feedback on the gaps identified during the session.
