Kohima: MGM College students and faculty lined up for health coverage on June 20. The school hosted a mass enrollment drive for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme. It was a busy day.
Organized by the Nagaland Health Protection Society and the Dimapur District Administration, the event aimed to hand out health cards to the entire campus community. These cards provide financial protection during medical emergencies. Organizers want better access to care.
District Programme Coordinators Moameren and Yanger oversaw the operation alongside MGM College Nodal Officer Temjen Longkumer. They walked staff and students through the paperwork. The Department of School Education also lent a hand to keep things moving.
The drive saw high turnout. Many participants walked away with active coverage. The college stated the initiative reflects their commitment to "promoting health awareness and ensuring access to essential healthcare benefits for its academic community."
