Meghalaya Power Minister to Unveil Solar Plant as Gorkha Community Heads to Polls

Shillong: Power Minister Metbah Lyngdoh is set to inaugurate a 50 KW solar power plant at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School this Monday. The ceremony begins at 1 pm and aims to foster a culture of sustainability while raising awareness about renewable energy options among students and the local public.

Separately, the Meghalaya Magar Samaj Samity is holding internal elections this Sunday to select a new executive committee. The event will take place at the Meghalaya Gorkha Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association campus located in Jhalupara.

Participants must submit their family data between 10 am and 11 am to begin the process. Candidates can file their nominations from 11 am until 12 noon, with the final voting and election results concluding by 1 pm.
