Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma recently laid the foundation stone for a new mini stadium in the North Garo Hills district, marking a significant step in the state government's ongoing initiative to expand sports infrastructure. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of providing robust facilities to nurture local talent and create meaningful opportunities for young people across the region.

Currently, the state has successfully initiated 240 sports projects that are either completed or in various stages of development. Looking ahead, the government has set an ambitious target to reach a total of 510 projects by 2028. This effort is part of a broader vision to ensure that every district, block, and locality receives equal access to quality sporting environments, bridging the gap between urban centers and rural areas.
