Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma recently met with fellow Northeastern state leaders in New Delhi to discuss regional development strategies. The session, hosted by NITI Aayog, provided a platform for Sangma to detail the state's Transformation Journey 2032, a roadmap designed to foster a Viksit Meghalaya.
During the discussion, Sangma shared his core philosophy regarding the state's future. He stated, "Emphasised that true economic growth must translate into meaningful human development and create better opportunities for citizens across the state." His approach prioritizes inclusive and sustainable progress that directly improves the daily lives of residents rather than focusing solely on financial metrics.
The Chief Minister identified Externally Aided Projects as vital components for building necessary infrastructure and boosting the state's developmental pace. He also urged for deeper cooperation among Northeastern states to enhance trade, exports, and environmental sustainability.
Sangma closed the meeting by advocating for national policies that recognize the distinct challenges and ambitions inherent to the Northeast. He believes that unified regional collaboration will be essential to unlocking long-term economic potential.
