Meghalaya BJP Denies Internal Friction Over Lok Sabha Bypoll Candidate

Shillong: Meghalaya BJP leaders are pushing back against reports of internal fighting over who will run in the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha by-election. Party heads claim the rumors are baseless and meant to smear the reputation of central leadership.

State BJP president Rikman G. Momin dismissed the claims entirely. He says the party will only name its candidate after the Election Commission sets an official date for the vote. Momin expects the rank and file to stand behind whatever decision the high command reaches. "Party-ni gisepo maiba maijaba ong·ode uko party-ni bil man·giparangsa agangen," Momin stated. For now, the party is waiting for the poll schedule to drop before making any final moves.
